Statement Calling for the Resignation of SA President Howard Brookins III

The GW College Democrats call on Howard Brookins III to resign from his office of Student Association President, effective immediately. The Student Association is responsible for overseeing the activities of all student organizations. It cannot be led by someone who has inflicted so much harm and pain to members of our community. There is no tolerance for this behavior.

We stand in solidarity with survivors of sexual assault. It is important that we listen to survivors and make sure their voices are heard and respected during this difficult time.

As we navigate this remote period, it is more important now than ever to have a Student Association run by people with the utmost levels of integrity. Based on recent revelations, it is clear that President Brookins is morally and ethically unfit for the office which he holds.

It is in the best interest of not just our organization, but the GW community as a whole, for President Brookins to step down and allow for our community to heal.
